Description
The resort town of Jermuk is located in the southeast of the Republic of Armenia, at an altitude of 2080 meters above sea level. The town is spread across a small plateau, divided into two parts by the picturesque gorge of the Arpa River. The climate is typically mountainous: summers are cool, winters are long and snowy, yet warm, sunny, and pleasant. The duration of sunny days is 250-300. In 1925, the first research expedition was sent to Jermuk to study the therapeutic properties of the mineral water and its effects. The conclusion was unequivocal: a resort town could be established based on the mineral water. The main therapeutic factors of Jermuk are its favorable climate and high-quality mineral water.
Jermuk is considered one of the ecologically clean settlements in Armenia; thanks to rich vegetation, the air is saturated with oxygen. The gorge where the resort town is located is sheltered from winds. Jermuk's mild climate allows for relaxation and treatment year-round.
