Description
Another, equally famous symbol is the statue of a deer situated on one of the high mountains surrounding the town. According to a legend woven about this centuries-old inhabitant of the Vayots Dzor forests, a deer wounded by a hunter's arrow reached a mineral water spring, plunged into the water, and emerged completely healed. Thus began the fame of Jermuk's miraculous water. In 2024, the deer statue was replaced with a new one, and thanks to the improvement of the surrounding area and the road to the monument, it can be reached by car in just 5 minutes.
